Tamarins are monkeys of the marmoset family native to Central and South America. Tamarins inhabit woods or scrub growth, where they climb in the manner of squirrels. Their diet consists of fruit, flowers, insects, and small animals. Tamarins travel in small groups. They are timid but show little fear of man, and they are even found in city suburbs.
